An Indiana hospital system infected by data-stealing malware

An Indiana hospital , Goshen Hospital send notification to over 12,000 people after their computer system infected by data-stealing malware. 

According to the local news report, the system had the data of people who might have applied for jobs and some outpatients.  It contain personal data includes names, addresses, and social security numbers.The detailed e-records of patients' medical issues was stored in some other server ,which doesn't have internet connection, so it continued to stay secure.

We are very sorry it happened here," said Melanie McDonald, spokesperson for Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital. "The sad thing is - these days - there are vulnerabilities online."

The virus was discovered on 22nd December 2011, hospital hired an Internet security expert ,he can't determine whether any data was accessed, but said someone definitely tried to access it.
