Acceptto the Passwordless Authentication Vendor Bought by SecureAuth

SecureAuth acquired Acceptto to grow its Identity Platform to provide a Zero-Trust security model for virtually every situation, simple or complex.

Acceptto, a passwordless verification business, has been purchased by SecureAuth, a supplier of identity and access management services for cloud, hybrid, and on-premise settings. The agreement's specifics are yet unknown.

Acceptto, which was established in Portland in 2013, provides a solution for "continuous passwordless authentication." According to the business, its eGuardian platform can determine if an access request is valid or not by recording user behavior and device postures before, during, and after authentication. It serves consumers in a variety of industries, like banking, health care, government, and higher education.

SecureAuth presently provides the SecureAuth Identity Platform to assist enterprises in preventing credential abuse and eliminating identity-related breaches. With this agreement, the firm will be able to enhance that offering by utilizing Acceptto's technology, allowing it to assess user contextual behavior and provide AI-driven ongoing passwordless authentication.

“With this new AI-based identity assurance technology from Acceptto, we can expand the SecureAuth Identity Platform to provide a zero-trust security model for virtually every situation, simple or complex,” Ravi Khatod, CEO and executive chairman at SecureAuth, said in a statement.

Acceptto's eGuardian generates and analyzes user behavior profiles based on their interactions with the company's proprietary It'sMe authenticator in real-time. As a result, whenever an interaction occurs, It'sMe collects actionable intelligence, such as browser and device fingerprints, and utilizes it to enhance the user profile.

The authenticator next uses AI and machine learning to provide a real-time risk score and continually check the user's identity before, during, and after authentication.

“As an industry, we still have a long way ahead of us to deliver fully AI-based authentication policies that are not overly complex and inflexible. But all leading enterprises are asking us today to deliver intuitive high-fidelity authentication journeys to meet their present compliance and security requirements,” Ravi added.
