Anonymous Hackers leaked personal data of Vatican Radio Journalists

The Italian branch of the hacking collective Anonymous compromised the database of Vatican Radio and leaked the personal data of Journalists as part of its fight to force the station to act over alleged cancer-causing radio waves.

Hackers blamed the Vatican Radio for allegedly transmitting frequencies above the legal limit and putting people at risk to "leukemia, cancer and other terrible diseases"

"Unfortunately it is now an established fact that you use repeaters with power transmission largely outside the bounds of the law, and is also sadly note the correlation between exposure to electromagnetic waves of high intensity and the onset of serious diseases such as leukemia cancer, cancer and many other terrible diseases." Hacker said in the pastebin release(translated to English).

According to the IBTimes report, The hacktivists' claim was based on a 2010 report conducted by the National Cancer Institute into cancer deaths from 1980-2003 in the Rome suburb of Cesano where Vatican Radio transmitters are located. Italy's supreme court ordered Vatican Radio to pay damages to Cesano residents in February 2011 in a case brought over a cluster of leukaemia cases traced to radio wave levels exceeding legal limits.

Meanwhile, The hackers also took down the Vatican website(Vatican.va) for the second time within few days. At the time of writing this article, we are not able to reach the Vatican website.
